At Linden Manor, we will help get your day started with the aroma of our enticing culinary delights. Breakfast is an event at Linden Manor that will delight the eyes as well as the palate. Prepare your self for a treat, whether it be our Eggs Florentine, French Vanilla French toast with fresh whipped cream, or fresh Baked herb eggs with homemade solider toast, as well as a host of other selections. Our breakfast are made with the freshest of ingredients, and dietary needs are never a problem for us.
Linden French Stuffed Toast
- 1 8-ounce package cream cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 slices 1/2 inch French bread
- 4 eggs beaten
- 3/4 cup cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 12 ounce jar apricot jam
- 1/2 cup orange juice
Combine the cream cheese, walnuts and vanilla. Spread on 6 slices of bread to form sandwiches. Combine the eggs, cream, and vanilla. Dip each sandwich into egg mixture. Coat griddle with butter and grill sandwich each side on griddle until golden brown.
Combine the Jam (you can use any fruit jam you would like) with orange juice, heat on stove until it simmers. Garnish the top of French toast with banana or other fruit slices. Serve apricot sauce over all.
Sherried Creamed Eggs with Mushrooms
- 1 1/2 pounds of fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups cream
- salt and pepper to taste
- 3/4 cup sherry
- 8 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
- 8 English muffins
Saute the mushrooms in 2 tablespoons of butter. Set aside.
In medium saucepan melt 6 tablespoons butter, stir in flour, add cream, salt and pepper and sherry. Simmer until thick.
Add mushrooms to sauce. Place sliced eggs on English muffins. Serve mushroom sauce over English muffins.
